Perfection is not necessary; there is no arriving, only going. There is no need to judge where you are in your journey. It is enough that you are traveling.

What changes?

Over time what changes? Does the wind change the land?
Does our feet change the stone beneath it?
Is it possible that the mind changes the physcial world we see?
Take a walk with me to a destination unknown
We walk over leaf covered streets
The sound of crushed dead leaves is still heard over the noise of the city
We walk over sea coast with objects not wanted by the deep blue
We are not wanted by the sea

Over time what changes? Does our voice vibrate buildings around us?
Does the glare of our eyes steal beauty?
Walk down a street of choice
Do you smell the difference between this place and that?
Touch the bricks made by man
Are the bricks in my country different than another?
Look at the birds in the air
Would a bird in my county still function in another?
Notice the clouds
Do they spread shade and spill rain only on certain places?

We live in a world that never stops
Every person's heart never stops
We all breath air that was once inhaled by another
People walk and talk about similar ideas
We all laugh
Yet cities stay the same
They live with the world
Buildings fall, New ones rise
Yet like the wind, rain and darkness
People pass through the life of a city
Do cities really change?
Is it the people?
Or does our mind change the world we live in?
If so, turn my mind off
let me live with the world, not in it

I admire your sentiment but I still would rather be IN a sinful world than OF or WITH a sinful world. Heaven is our home, the earth is only temporary. Please don't forget that Joe. P.S. I'm glad you enjoyed the German language...I thought you were always against us Germans...haha

Paul, thanks for the comment. I agree with you, that we do live in a sinful world...sad isn't it. Thinking back to what was going through my mind at the time of writing this...After the little travel I have done (only spain, germany, and morocco), I've come to realize how small this world we live in/with is. Close your eyes and be placed in a city. Wake up and see everything but written language...hear nothing...yes people look different, buildings may be of different style. BUT, people are the same...we eat, laugh, pray, hope, envy, hate, and sleep. When sitting on the beach of southern spain, viewing Africa across the straight then taking a 35 min boat ride to a different "world", you will understand...This planet we live on consists of around 193 countries...or 193 different "worlds" as some may view...I don't want to believe there are 193 different "worlds"...we all live on ONE planet. I want to live WITH everyone, WITH or WITHIN the world...not IN the United States...which to some is their world.
It is sad to sit back and observe the petty differences, weak arguments and ideology that prevent humans from living WITH each other.
And I'm not attacking the US. People in Spain and Germany and Morocco and I'm sure everywhere else I will go are just as ideological, just as naive, racist, or fundamental...No one culture is right or wrong...better or worse.
I want to understand everyone I want to live WITH everyone.

Again thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Hope SD is treatin' you well

Joer, thanks for the reply and further explanation. I'm glad you can recognize the sadness of living in a sinful world. I also appreciate your wanting to live as one with all people. Although we have our cultural differences throughout the world, we are all redeemed children of Christ. He died to save all people, not just Jews, not just whites or blacks or any other specific race. His sacrifice was for all and I agree with you if you think that many people miss that fact.
Also, I won't ever accuse you of bashing the U.S. You have much more experience with other cultures than some of our friends and the other people you talk to around the midwest, and this experience is often eye-opening. So don't take it personally when our friends think or say that, they just don't always understand where you're coming from.
Just for my curiosity, have you been able to share your faith at all with people over there? Might be a neat thing for you to do as you share in their culture. Good to hear from you. I know this is a long letter but I got plenty of time between classes here in SD. It's going really well by the way and I really enjoy teaching HS kids. So, I'll talk to you later.

Joe, I didn't know that you write poetry! I like it.
Also appreciate Paul's distinction between 'with' and 'in' the world and your clarifications.
